The Volta Young Chiefs and Queens have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
His appointment, the traditional leaders say, did not come as a surprise, given Mr. Ablakwa’s impressive track record of hard work and dedication to the nation.
According to the group, The North Tongu MP’s tenure in opposition was marked by his tireless efforts to hold the previous NPP government accountable. His development initiatives in his constituency, even while in opposition, are a testament to his commitment to the welfare of his people.

The group also praised Hon. Ablakwa’s exceptional leadership during the Akosombo Dam spillage, which displaced thousands of Tongu residents, and his innovative response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included organizing classes for school children and providing allowances to private school teachers.
Togbe Komla Sakpiti V, leader of the Volta Young Chiefs and Queens, also commended President Mahama for demonstrating confidence in the Volta Region by appointing three ministers and other officials from the region.
The group urged the appointees to work diligently to elevate the region’s image and promote its development.
