The 2004 year group of St. Mary’s Seminary Senior High School, Lolobi, has donated an amount of Gh¢6,000 towards the school’s fencewall project.

The gesture was in response to a plea from the immediate past headmaster, Rev. Fr. Pascal Afesi, in order to save  the school land from encroachment.

The group made the donation during a visit to the school last Sunday, Sept. 29 2019.

Mr. Daniel Gbenu leader of the delegation recalled their days in the school some 15 years ago, as he welcomed  the new headmaster, Rev. Fr. Felix Akpa and wished him well in his leadership of the all boys second cycle institution.

He recounted previous suports the 2004 year group has extended to the school, including the donation of a 50 inch digital Television set in 2015 and two pieces of 1-Terabyte external drives in 2018 to aid the school’s preparations for the annual National Science Maths Quiz Competition.

He also entreated the present crop of students to raise high the flag of the school and make it a school of choice among the top schools in the country.

The delegation after a tour of the campus, decried the sorry state of facilities, as well as the  stagnation of several infrastructural projects in the school, for which they called on the appropriate authorities to expedite their completion.

The Headmaster, Fr. Akpa who received the the donation on behalf of the school management, thanked the batch for coming back to assist the school that made them who they are today.

He further appealed to other year groups and stakeholders to come to the aid of the school.

He made special appeal for a sick bay,  the fixing of the deplorable access roads and the completion of stalled  projects in the school.

Earlier, the delegation joined the student body for Holy Mass, which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Anthony Mawuli Ahiabor, a member of the group.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. John Nimako, another priest of the year group, admonished the students to study hard and avoid the use of hard drugs.

He further asked them to avail themselves to the strict discipline of the school so that they could become responsible citizens in the near future.

The group also interacted with the students, before concluding their visit with benediction.
