It was all celebration at the premises of the Ho Municipal Assembly Tuesday afternoon when Mr. Prosper Kofi Pi-Bansah was affirmed as the new Municipal Chief Executive for the regional capital.
Mr. Pi-Bansah who was the immediate past Municipal Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) secured the votes of all 41 assembly members present to succeed Mr. John Nelson Akorli, whose appointment was recently revoked by the President.
The news of his unanimous endorsement threw his supporters who were stationed outside the assembly hall into a state of wild jubilation amidst borborbor music.
Dr. Archibald Letsa, the Volta Regional minister in a brief remark before the voting said, with Ho municipal being his home assembly he expected nothing less than a 100 per cent approval from the assembly members.
He urged stakeholders to trust the President’s choice, as he was capable of leading the nunicipality into greater heights.
The Ho Central MP, Mr. Benjamin Kpodo on his part urged the members to carry out their statutory mandate devoid of extreme partisan considerations.
Mr. Pi-Bansah who was subsequently sworn into office by a Magistrate of the Ho District Court, His Worship Robert Addo, thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work all for the betterment of the muncipality.
He also thanked his predecessor, Mr. Akorli who was present at the ceremony for the good job done so far, which he would build upon.
The ceremony was witnessed by traditional leaders from the Asogli, functionaries of the governing party and some MMDCEs in the region.
