A medical practitioner and an old student of Ho Dome E.P. Basic School, Dr. Robert Doh has given a facelift to the Headmistress’ office at School.
The renovation, which saw the tiling of the office and fixing of a security door, among other ancillary works, according the medical entrepreneur, was his way of giving back to his former school.
Similar work is ongoing with the staff common room.
Speaking at the commissioning of the renovated office last Tuesday, Dr. Doh said his gesture was in response to an appeal made by Mama Atrato II, the queenmother of Ho Dome, for old students to help give facelift to the school.
He said the school gave him a good foundation both in literacy and leadership, as he was one time a school Prefect, hence his desire to help improve conditions in the school for the younger generation.
He advised the students to be disciplined and take their studies serious, in order to achieve their ambitions in life.
Mama Atrato on her part, commended Dr. Doh for responding to her appeal and reiterated her resolve to mobilise the needed support to put the school back to its glorious ways.
She also appealed for support to add a community Senior High School, so as to make secondary education accessible to the young ones, especially girls in the community.
As part of the ceremony, an NGO, Centre for Achievement presented reading books to the school, to aid in improving reading culture among the students.
Madam Patience Tornu, Headmistress of the school expressed appreciation to the donors for their kind gesture, and assured both the renovated office and the books would be put to good use.
