The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Edem Kpotosu, has made a passionate appeal for the immediate operationalization of the state-of-the-art abbatoir located at Sokode-Gborgame.
The facility, constructed over 10 years ago, has deteriorated significantly, with infrastructure falling into disrepair, including air conditioners and ceilings. The MP expressed concern that this valuable public investment is being wasted while butchers and livestock owners operate in substandard and unhygienic environments.
Hon. Kpotosu called on the Ho Municipal Chief Executive to take urgent steps to revive the facility, providing a clean, safe, and modern space for animal slaughtering.
The MP made this call during a recent donation exercise organized in partnership with the Ghana-Turkey Cooperation and Development Association (TUDEC) to celebrate Eid al-Adha.

Through the partnership, 18 cattle were slaughtered and distributed to various groups and members of the Muslim community within the Ho Central constituency.
Hon. Kpotosu commended the Muslim community for their support and urged them to promote peace, unity, and coexistence for development to reach every corner of the constituency.
“This is the time to demonstrate brotherhood and togetherness. Peace is the foundation for every meaningful development,” he emphasized.
