Engineers at the Ghana Water Headworks in Kpeve have completed repairs on the broken-down pump that disrupted water supply to Ho and its environs for weeks.
A notice from the Regional office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) confirmed that the repair work was completed on Saturday evening, with supply being restored.
The pump, which broke down for the third time since January 2, has been restored, and water supply is expected to normalize soon.
The Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, had visited the plant last Monday with the Ag. Managing Director of Ghana Water to assess the situation.
To mitigate the effects of the water shortage, the Regional Minister arranged for water tanker services to critical institutions such as hospitals, schools, and prisons.
Residents, who had to rely on alternative sources of water, can now heave a sigh of relief as water supply is restored.

Meanwhile, the Regional Minister has visited the plant again on Sunday afternoon to ascertain the situation. He noted that while the repair is a positive step, the current production capacity of 11,000 cubic meters is still far below the daily demand of over 30,000 cubic meters.
He assured of working with stakeholders to expand the Kpeve Headworks as a sustainable solution to address the water supply challenges.
