Her Lady Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has called on lawyers, magistrates, and judges to safeguard and strengthen the pillars of justice, which hold the key to a just and equitable society and serve as the bedrock upon which our legal systems are built.
According to Justice Sackey Torkornoo, every person, regardless of their background or circumstances, must receive the right judgment with dignity and respect.
Her Lady Chief Justice Sackey Torkornoo was speaking at the 15th Annual Chief Justice’s Forum held in Ho on Thursday.
The forum brought together all relevant stakeholders to discuss the state of justice delivery and explore the improvements and interventions necessary to guarantee continuous freedom and justice for all people in a timely and efficient manner.
She also called for collaboration, which is key to building the pillars of justice.
She stated that collaboration requires the active engagement of governments, civil society organizations, legal professionals, and concerned citizens.
“We need to work together and bridge the gaps in our justice systems, address systemic injustices, and ensure that the voices of the marginalized and vulnerable are heard and amplified. Additionally, we should embrace technology as an enabler of justice in this digital age.”
She urged members to leverage technological advancements to enhance access to justice, streamline legal processes, and promote transparency.
