The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has generously donated relief items to the victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage, aimed at alleviate the plight of those in 21 affected communities spanning the Volta, Eastern, and Greater Accra Regions.
The donated items include 104 bags of rice, 69 gallons of oil, 20 cartons of toothpaste, 20 cartons of soap, 118 pieces of cooking utensils, 3 gallons of antiseptics, 3 gallons of liquid soap, 2 balloons of bleach, 1 pack of spray sanitizer, 83 sets of cooking pots, 110 pieces of washing basins, toilet rolls, shower gel, and used clothing, among other essential supplies.
Additionally, a monetary donation of Ghc60,000 was made to express solidarity with individuals affected by the spillage. The President of the Association of Ghana Industries, Dr. Humphrey K Ayim-Dake, personally presented the donation during the official opening ceremony of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho.
Representatives from the Volta region, including the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, and the Vice President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, Togbe Patamia Dzekle, received the items on behalf of the victims.
