The Government has served notice that it will go after members of the separatist movement, the Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) who announced their secession from Ghana.
The group led by its octogenarian founder, Charles Komi Kudzordzi last Saturday declared the Volta region and parts of the Northern, North East and Upper East regions along the eastern border of Ghana, an independent Western Togoland state.
Mr. Kudzordzi popularly known as Papavi Hogbedetor, at a public forum of the group in Ho announced that, ”from midnight today November 16 2019 entering tomorrow, We’re now Western Togoland state.”
However, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah in a statement issued on Monday, November 18, 2019 described the group’s conduct as ‘illegal’ and indicated that, ‘the state security agencies are taking the necessary measures to ensure that persons involved in the illegal act are dealt with in accordance with the law.’
