Wailer Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO) has donated one thousand library books to Adaklu Helekpe EP Primary Basic School in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region.
The library books which are expected to benefit three communities, Helekpe, Awanyaviofe and Sikaman will help the children around these communities to cultivate reading culture.
Executive Director, Wailer Foundation and morning show host at Dela Radio in the Central Tongu District, Christopher Vuyani Pappoe said the gesture was to help the children improve upon their reading skills.
“I attended Helekpe, Awanyaviofe and Sikaman Union (HASU) community festival last year and was saddened about how there was not even a single library available for the children.”
“I therefore took the initiative to fall on family and friends to help raise about 600 library books worth GH¢4,000 and another 400 donated by philanthropists,” he added.
Assistant Headmaster of the school, Johnson Agamah who received the donation, expressed his gratitude to the Foundation and also pleaded with other philanthropists to help promote schools in the rural communities in order to help them be at par with their colleagues in the urban areas.
Wailer Foundation is an NGO in education based in the Volta Region interested in improving the standard of education in rural communities and is inviting like-minded individuals to help join hands to improve the lives of children.
