Ho Harlem Basketball Club will host ‘After 7’ Basketball Club of Cantonments at the Ho Sports Stadium in a day’s friendly.
The event which begins at 9:00am, on Saturday, May 19, also sees the old players of the host club play against the visitors and as well play the current players of Ho Harlem who have been in consistent training.
The friendly, the first for the Club this year, is purposed to give the players a good test as Head Coach Charles Gomadonku begins his assessment of players in preparation towards the Sports Festival in July/August in Cape Coast.
Regional Basketball Coach, Charles Gomadonku, also known as Joebee, tells TalksenseSports, he expects a good performance from his side.
“I expect to see a very good performance from my boys, not necessarily a win; if we win, it will be a plus. I say this because After 7 Club is a very tough side. The reason we invited them was to gain experience because there are lots of things to learn from them while playing with them.”
Basketball, among other disciplines which weren’t part of last year’s Sports Festival in Kumasi has now been included and it calls for proper preparations from team Volta, who aims at bringing lots of laurels back home.
The Basketball fraternity also has plans of organizing a Justifier in June, to select players for the Sports Festival. Basketball clubs in the regions including AK Riffles from Akatsi, and others from Hohoe, Sogakope, Aflao and Kpando are expected to present players for the justification and selection process when the date is set in June.
