The management of Ho Technical University has cracked the whip on some 26 students found culpable in various forms of examination malpractice during the End-of-First Semester Examinations of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The sanctions, which take effect from the Second Semester, were communicated through an official notice issued on August 6, 2025 by the Registrar, Dr. Christopher Amehoe. According to the notice, nine (9) of the students have been rusticated for two semesters, while 16 others have been rusticated for one semester. One student other has been reprimanded and bonded to be of good behaviour.
The all-male affected students, also have the specific examination paper in which the malpractice occurred cancelled. The students are drawn from various departments, including Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, and other related programmes.
According to the notice, all rusticated students were to vacate campus with immediate effect and refrain from participating in any university-related activities during the period of their rustication. Heads of Department, Hall Wardens, and the Security Unit have been tasked to ensure strict compliance with this directive, the notice added.
The registrar further reiterated the university’s zero-tolerance against examination malpractice and cautioned all students to desist from such acts, warning that future infractions may attract more severe sanctions.
