A 23-year old driver who knocked and killed a 4-year old girl at Kudzra, on the Kpando-Tafi has been remanded into police custody for a week.
Kingsley Kornudze, an auto mechanic, according to the police was arrested after he reported himself to the Kpando police, days after the incident occurred on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.
He was taken to the Police station by his mother and the Assemblyman for Kudzra after the publication of the incident.
Consequently, the suspect was slapped with a provisional charge of Dangerous Cycling and Negligently Causing Harm, and arraigned before the Kpando Circuit Court on Tuesday February 15, 2022.
The case has been adjourned to W ednesday February 23, 2022.
Background
The 4-year old victim was in the company of his friends on an errand when she hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the road.
She sustained severe body injuries and pronounced dead upon arrival at the Magaret Marquart Catholic Hospital at Kpando.
