Report reaching voltaonlinegh has it that thieves has broke into the Sogakope D/A Primary C School and booted away with some items belonging to the school.
The Headmistress of the School, Madam Kokofi made this known at the commissioning of 1No. 6-Unit Classroom Block which was handed over to the School Authorities by the South Tongu District Assembly lead by Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.
According to Madam Kokofi, The thieves stole 17 ceiling fans including the regulators which were install in the newly built classroom block and that of the old school block even though the windows and doors were locked.
According to her, the incident happens when schools session were halted due to COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Reacting to the incident, Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama, District Chief Executive (DCE) of The South Tongu District lamented over the heartless attitudes some people in the surrounding area are putting up to steal properties belonging to the school,
He said everybody must play a watch-dog role so as to ensure that such happenings in Sogakope ends adding that it should be a collective responsibility.
“People are saying security issues are the works of District Assembly Security Council (DISEC) which is not true because it is the duty all of us to join hands on deck to maintain a proper security in the area” He stated
He further urged residents of Sogakope and its adjourning areas to put a stop to such behaviors for they do not bring development to the area but rather drive investors away even if they want to assist in eradicating challenges the district.
