The Deputy Director in-charge of Public Health at the Volta Regional Health Directorate, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto has over the weekend been providing update on the region’s management of the Corona virus pandemic in an exclusive chat with Volta Online.
Dr. Djokoto who is a member of the Regional Public Health Emergency Management Committee spoke on a variety of issues including the state of the 10 confirmed cases in the region and how frontline personnel are coping with the situation.
He disclosed that, over 500 contacts have so far been traced in connection with the confirmed cases, while some front line workers had also been exposed but not infected with the virus.
He also spoke on how the pandemic has impacted other sectors of the healthcare system, revealing that regular attendance at the various facilities have seen a decline.
Dr. Djokoto also touched on the cooperation of the general public regarding adherence to the various safety protocols to contain further spread of the virus.
