The Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah has successfully filed his nomination papers to contest in the parliamentary primaries of the opposition, National Democratic Congress, (NDC).
Mr. Bedzrah who is seeking a fourth term in parliament is being challenged by two other contenders in party.
A release from the MP’s office signed by a Research Assistant, Mr. Edwin Koge noted that, Mr. Bedzrah’s nomination forms were presented to the Ho West NDC secretariat at Dzolokpuita on Friday by members of his campaign team.
The statement indicated that, the MP would commence his campaign immediately after an anticipated successful vetting on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
Mr. Bedzrah who is promising to continue serving the best interest of his constituents, is hopeful of an overwhelming endorsement by the delegates at the parliamentary primaries on August 24, 2019.
“We have no doubts in our minds that, just as you (delegates) endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama earlier this year as our party’s Flag-bearer, same way you would endorse Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Ho West on August 24, 2019 to enable them bring the party back to power during the 2020 general elections as they continue to work for the development of Ho West and Ghana,” the statement concluded.
Mr. Bedzrah succeeded Mr. Francis Agbotse in 2009 and has since been reelected twice on the ticket of the NDC into the august house, where he served on various committees, with the latest being the committees on Works and Housing, Standing Orders as well the House committee.
He is also the chairman of the Volta Caucus in parliament and has been instrumental in the creation of the Ho West district out of Ho municipal in 2012.
