Members of the Keta Municipal Assembly have handed an overwhelming endorsement to the president’s nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah, despite protest against his nomination by some members of the governing New Patriotic Party.
The nominee secured 28 votes out of the 30-member assembly during his confirmation poll on Monday to cement his appointment as the chief representative of President Akufo-Addo in the Keta municipality.
Mr. Effah’s confirmation comes on the back of agitations by elements of the party who described him as an ‘alien’ in the municipality who was undeserving of the position.
A claim, which was outrightly rejected by the party’s constituency organizer, Mr. Elikem Sewordor.
Mr. Effah in his acceptance speech thanked assembly members for the confidence repose in him and pledged to work with all stakeholders for the forward match of the municipality.
The now former accountant of the Keta Senior High School nomination was necessitated by the re-designation of the immediate past MCE, Mr. Seth Yormewu as the first District Chief Executive for the newly created Anloga district Assembly.
