Dr. Stanley Nelvis Glate, a former Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ho Central, has declared his intention to contest the position of Volta Regional Secretary of the party.
Dr. Glate, a Lecturer at the Department of Marketing of Ho Technical University, made the announcement at a media engagement at the Volta Regional Press Centre in Ho under the theme “Rebuilding the Grassroots, Restoring Hope, Reclaiming Glory.”

He said the NDC’s longstanding dominance in the Volta Region alone could not guarantee future electoral victories, stressing the need to strengthen organisational structures, reconnect with supporters and restore confidence at the grassroots.
“The time has come to rejuvenate the base,” he declared, pledging to build a Regional Secretariat anchored on transparency, accountability, accessibility and responsiveness.
Dr. Glate promised regular engagements with constituency and branch executives to identify concerns, provide timely feedback and ensure effective communication of decisions and resources. He assured Members of Parliament, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, government appointees and activists that no section of the party would feel neglected under his leadership.
He becomes the third aspirant to join the race, after Acting Regional Secretary Bright Kwashie Egeh and long‑time Director of Elections and Research, Paschal Agbagba, who have also hinted at their intentions.
Dr. Glate described his candidacy as an effort to build a stronger bridge between the Regional Secretariat and the grassroots, urging party members to unite around a shared vision of service, accountability and renewal.

“Together, we shall restore confidence. Together, we shall strengthen our structures. Together, we shall inspire our activists. Together, we shall give hope to our constituencies,” he affirmed.
He concluded that his campaign was not about individual ambition but about the grassroots, the party and the collective future of the NDC in the Volta Region, declaring his readiness to serve and appealing to delegates and members to support his bid.
