Members of the Adaklu District Assembly have on Monday approved a DCE Nominee for the area, Madam Juliana Kpedekpo.
She polled 17 ‘Yes’ votes as against two ‘No’ votes during her confirmation poll to secure the position, which has eluded two previous nominees.
She was however a second time lucky, as her first nomination was rejected few weeks ago.
Prior to that, the two previous nominees, Mr. Phanuel Kadey Donkor, immediate past DCE and Mr. Bright Nyatsikor, NPP Constituency Secretary, were each rejected twice.
Madam Kpedekpo’s approval brings to two, the number of female DCEs out of the 18 MDCEs in the Volta region.
Swearing-in the new DCE on Tuesday in Ho, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa advised her to be always guided by the oaths she has sworn, and apply herself to the relevant laws and legislations governing the operations of the assembly.
He also urged her to see her affirmation as a victory for the entire people of Adaklu, hence the need to bring on board all stakeholders for the development of the district; as he assured her of his support and guidance.
On her part, Madam Kpedekpo pledged to work diligently with all stakeholders to bring the needed progress to the district.
