The Volta Regional Police Command has provided details on two dead bodies found in the Volta Regional capital, Ho last week, as it opens investigations into the cases.
According to the command, the bodies found near the back gate of Ho Technical University and under a bridge on the UHAS-Mirage road, respectively were both male adults.
In a brief to the media, the police identified the first person as one Simon Amedi, aged 50, a mason, and a resident of Adaklu-Kodzobi.
Preliminary investigations, revealed that the deceased left his house at Kodzobi-Ando about 3.00 am last Wednesday and was later found dead, around the Technical University, with marks of assault on his body, the police noted.
He was however without his clothes, though his pair of slippers and mobile phone were found around him, the brief indicated, and added that, the body has been deposited at the Ho Teaching Hospital awaiting autopsy.
Regarding the second body, which found last Thursday, March 10, 2022, under a bridge along the Mirage-UHAS Road, the police noted that, the body was found to be that of a male adult believed to be in his 30s wrapped in a black polythene sheet tied with a cello tape.
Police could not identify the deceased due to the advanced stage of decomposition of the body, hence, resulting in its immediate burial by Environmental Health Officers from Ho Municipal Assembly, upon securing a Coroner’s order.
Investigation is however continuing into the two cases, the police stated.
