The President of the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Professor Clement K. Dzidonu, has urged the nurturing of graduates who can think deeply, learn continuously, and lead responsibly in the unfolding era of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony held on June 13, 2026, at the Knowledge City Campus in Kokomlemle, Accra, Professor Dzidonu declared: “The AI Era requires graduates who think deeply, learn continuously and lead responsibly.” He explained that the world is entering “The Age of the Sovereign Learner”—an age that demands independent thinkers, adaptable innovators, and responsible leaders who can make meaningful contributions to society.
Delivering his speech titled “Preparing the Sovereign Learner for a World of Complexity, Possibility and Difference,” Professor Dzidonu introduced the Opportunity–Possibility–Difference (OPD) Perspective, urging students to embrace discipline, excellence, and lifelong learning.

He emphasized: “Your success at AIT will not depend solely on the resources available to you but on your willingness to learn, your commitment to excellence, your discipline, and your determination to continually improve yourself.”
A total of 586 newly admitted students were formally inducted into AIT’s academic community. Representing the matriculating class, Mr. Samuel Peace Kamara expressed gratitude to the university leadership and pledged the students’ commitment to uphold AIT’s values of innovation, responsibility, and excellence.
The event also reaffirmed AIT’s recognition as Ghana’s top-ranked private university, underscoring its reputation as a hub of academic excellence and forward-looking education. The matriculation ceremony marked another milestone in AIT’s vision of shaping leaders prepared to navigate complexity and drive transformation in the AI era.
