A group calling itself the Volta Impact Alliance has thrown its weight behind Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, urging calm and fairness in the wake of public discussions surrounding investigations by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Addressing the media in Ho on Wednesday, spokesperson Zikpuitor Micheal Agbolosu outlined Mr. Atokple’s extensive contributions to the Volta Region, as Council of State Member, ranging from healthcare and education to youth development and community welfare.
He cited initiatives such as scholarships at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, donations to hospitals, and the establishment of the Sesi-Edem Football Academy as evidence of Atokple’s commitment to regional progress.
Zikpuitor Agbolosu stressed that the Alliance’s concern was not only about protecting one individual but about safeguarding a culture of encouragement for leaders who invest in development. “We must rise above the pull-him-down mindset and instead build a culture of unity, fairness, and support,” he said.

The Alliance appealed to national and regional leaders—including President John Dramani Mahama, Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, and the Volta Regional House of Chiefs—to intervene and ensure justice and fairness prevail. They also urged EOCO to handle matters with professionalism and respect for due process, warning that unfair treatment could discourage other young entrepreneurs and professionals from contributing to regional development.
The press conference concluded with a strong message of encouragement to Atokple: to remain focused and continue his work, as his efforts are inspiring a new generation of leaders across the Volta Region.
