The Volta Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has raised concerns regarding the use drones around and above the Residency in Ho, which is the official residence of the Regional Minister and a designated a Security Zone.
To address the potential risks posed by these unauthorised drones, REGSEC has advised the general public to adhere to the newly established regulations. That is, individuals or entities intending to operate drones in the vicinity of the Residency are required to obtain clearance from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) at least five working days prior to the planned operation.
According to a press release signed by the Chief Director of the RCC, Augustus Awity on Friday, August 25, REGSEC has taken a firm stance, and has directed both the Military and the Police to shoot down any any drones or flying devices that are spotted operating in and around the Residency without proper authorisation.
