A Police officer in the Ashanti Region has been burnt to death together with his wife and baby, on Monday (Jan. 16,2023) dawn. the deceased-Sgt. Owusu Asante was a personnel with the anti-robbery unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
The tragic incident, according to reports, happened at Apromase police barracks in the Ejisu Municipality, where the officer and his family resided.Â
The incident which has left other personnel at the barracks in a state of shock, has attracted the attention of the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who has rushed to the area to assess the situation for himself and commiserate with the affected families.
The cause of the dawn inferno is however yet to be ascertained, but the charred bodies have been deposited at the morgue.Â
