The leadership of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has directed the staff of the Ho Municipal Assembly to stay home due to their ‘unsafe working environment.’
This directive comes in response to a protest by Assembly members who stormed the premises on Wednesday to demand the removal of the Municipal Finance Officer, Mac-George Apetorgbor.
The aggrieved members, wearing red bands, locked up the office of the Finance Officer and impounded his official vehicle, citing his alleged gross disrespect towards them.
CLOGSAG in a swift response to condemned the conduct of the assembly members, describing it as a “terrorist act.”
According to the statement, the behaviour of the assembly members has created an “unsafe” working environment for the staff, and consequently, instructed them to stay home until their safety and security can be guaranteed.
