The chief Imam for Nkwanta South who is also the deputy regional chief Imam of the Oti Region,  Sheik  Alhaji Amara Toure, has appealed to government for the provision of Islamic University and other developmental projects in the Region.
He said the provision of the university in the area will help bring higher education close to the people.
The chief Imam who made the request during the Eid-dal Adha celebration at Nkwanta, also appealed for of the use of Zongo development fund to improve basic infrastructure in the area.
The Regional Minister for Oti Region, Joshua Makubu, has also reminded residents to continue observing the COVID-19 safety protocols as the country has recording news cases.
According, to him the wearing of face masks and observing other COVID-19 safety protocols was the only way Ghanaian can prevent themselves from the new wave.
On his part, MP for Nkwanta South, Geoffrey Kini, has requested residents to come together to ensure total development of the area.
