A youth-oriented Non-Governmental Organization, Love Aid Foundation has adopted Taviefe Senior High School in the Ho Municipality for its “Book a Rung” project—a literacy initiative aimed at promoting high-quality, inclusive, and equitable education.
The project, according to Miss Princess Lovia Tetteh, Executive Director of the foundation, was aimed at creating a sustainable community of young individuals by enhancing their capacities in reading, writing, literature, communication, research, public speaking, logical reasoning, and critical thinking.
‘The goal is to contribute to achieving SDG Goal 4 while providing the students with a solid foundation for their future endeavours,’ she stated.
During a meeting with the school’s management on Monday, 4th September 2023, the Love Aid Foundation team disclosed that, efforts will be made to refurbish the school’s old library, as part of the “Book a Rung” project.
On their part, the school management led by the Headmaster, thanked the team for choosing TASEC for the project, and assured them of full cooperation during the project implementation.
Taviefe Senior High School, a co-educational institution situated about five kilometers from Ho on the Ho-Dzolokpuita road. Founded in the late 1980s by dedicated citizens of Taviefe, it was established to provide secondary education opportunities for local children and those from surrounding areas who faced challenges accessing the limited educational facilities in the competitive schools of Ho town and other secondary institutions in the region. In 1987, the school began as a community day secondary school offering courses in the Arts and Vocational fields, before later being integrated into the public education system in the 1990s.
