Checks conducted by voltaonlinegh.com revealed that, inadequate and irregular water supply to residents in the regional capital, Ho, is affecting citizen’s livelihood for the past weeks especially at the time when the region saw a surge in the numbers of Corona virus cases.
Speaking to some residents in town to seek their view on the situation, they described the issue as challenging and need swift responds from the Authorities of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
For some residents living around Powerhouse, a suburb in Ho,  they have been experiencing irregular flow of water since last year, a situation which is greatly having a burden on them while others in Bankoe noted that their plight started few weeks ago.
“We find it difficult to get water. There is no access to potable water in this area, so we are paying more for water in the area which is affecting our livelihood. Water does not flow regularly and it looks like the authorities have neglected us.” Powerhouse resident lamented.
“Yea it very difficult because since the tap is not flowing, we finds it difficult to wash our hands. normally we use the pure water to wash our hands” Sarah
“We have to carry containers roaming from wells and other places to get access to water. The situation is really bad. We are finding it difficult to protect ourselves as well as getting water”
Royce Anani, a resident in Poly Down community said, “the issue in the area is challenging, the water sometimes come once in one night within the week and even with this one, it come within some short period and seize”.
The situation is not different in areas such as Heve and other suburbs in the Volta Regional capital
