An 8-year-old girl has lost her life after being knocked down by a vehicle while on her way home from school.
The sad incident occured last Wednesday afternoon near the Total Filling station on the recently completed Sokode-Ho dual carriage road.
According to information gathered by Volta Online, the victim, identified as Christlove Sedem, was attempting to cross the dual carriage road when a speeding salon car, driven by a police officer, crashed her onto the asphalt.
She was rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital for medical treatment, but later transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, due to the severity of her injuries.
The young girl however, passed-on during the trip to Accra in the early hours of Thursday, a family source told Volta Online.
The news of her passing has left her family and neighours within the Kabakaba suburb, devastated.
Meanwhile, Volta Online has learned that a delegation from the police have visited the grieving family during the week to offer their condolences and support.
