All is set for the conduct of the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential elections in the Volta Region today, December 7.
A total of 1,023,836 registered voters across 2,351 polling stations are expected to determine the fate of 58 parliamentary candidates in the 18 constituencies of the region. Among the 58 candidates, 11 are women.
According to information from the Volta Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission, the candidates come from varied backgrounds, including education, health professionals, businessmen, and farmers. The youngest candidate is 30 years old, while the oldest is 68 years old.
Mr. Eric Dzakpasu, Regional EC Director, has assured Ghanaians of smooth voting on election day, noting that all logistics have been dispatched to the polling stations for the exercise. Ballot papers and other voting materials are being distributed to all polling stations in the region.
