Some residents at Dzodze and Penyi in the Ketu North municipality have expressed mixed feelings on the arrival of the covid-19 vaccine.

On Wednesday February, 24, 2021, the health minister designate Mr Kwaku Aggeman-Manu led a government delegation to receive the first batch of covid-19 vaccines Astrazeneca at the Kotoka international airport which arrived at 7am GMT.

In an interview with residents in Dzodze/ Penyi some residents admitted that coronavirus pandemic impeded the progress of the country adding that,  it was a good idea to receive the vaccine, which they said will help to improve the health condition of the people and therefore ready to partake in the vaccination exercise.

Others who kicked against the vaccine said, is a trap to get them killed by the vaccine so they are not ready to partake in the vaccination

Some also said, government officials must first take the vaccination before they can also get involved.

“I’ll only take the vaccine if government officials and their family members take it and nothing happened to them”  Richmond Lanyo.

Meanwhile speaking to the Deputy Volta regional health director Dr, Senanu Kwesi Djokoto on the issue he said what the people need is intensive education.

He said, their outfit is ready to educate the public on why people who are entitled to the vaccine must partake in the vaccination.

He also said he is willing to take the vaccination in public just to prove to the people that the vaccine is harmless.

Dr. Djokoto advised everyone to keep adhering to Covid-19 protocols
