Various stakeholders in the Anlo-Afiadenyigba community, including the Chief, Torgbui Kadzahlo have put up measures to close down the Anlo-Afiadenyigba police station in the community and all personnel therein.
According to Torgbui Kadzahlo, the post office which has not being in use for several years, will be renovated and use as a new police station to serve the community.
He indicated that, they have sent an appeal to the head of the Police hierarchy in Accra to transfer all the police officers from the community and bring new ones. This he said will boost security in the community.
The Chief’s reactions follows an armed robbery attack on the Member of Parliament elect for Keta Constituency, Dzudzorli Gakpey last week Thursday.
The incident which nearly caused the life of the newly elected member of Parliament, sparked confusion among the residents of the community regarding the inability of the police to rescue the Victim or apprehend the armed robbers.
Speaking on the situation, the presiding member for the Keta Municipal Assembly, Amos Ametsimeh also reiterated that, the community lacks maximum security, hence the need to put stringent measures in place to curb issues of robbery.
He however called on the youth to corporate with relevant stakeholders in the community so as to initiate their plans.
