The Home Group of Companies, popularly known as ‘Afe Lotto’, has been honoured with the esteemed Corporate Award at the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards.
The glamorous ceremony, attended by Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, representing the President, was held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Friday, January 24, 2025.
The event celebrated individual excellence in sports and recognized outstanding contributions to sports development in Ghana.
Home Group of Companies, a leading conglomerate with subsidiary companies including Home Stars Football Club, Home Transport Services, Home Farms, Home Engineering, and Afe Lotto, was recognized for its tireless support of sports development in the Volta Region.
The award was received on behalf of the Chief Executive officer of the company, Mr. Joe Justus Atsivor by the Club Administrator of Home Stars FC, Mr. Emil Yaw Atando.
The company’s contributions include generous support for Division One League clubs, sponsorship of Volta Regional football leagues, consistent assistance with travel expenses for regional athletic teams, and significant contributions to the renovation of the Ho Sports Stadium.
Afe Lotto is also the main sponsor of Division One League side, Home Stars Football Club, currently competing in the Division One League in Zone 3.KGL and Access Bank were also honoured in the same category.
The SWAG Awards is an annual event that acknowledges excellence in sports and recognizes contributions to Ghana’s sports development.This year’s theme was “Gold and Glory: A Call for Change in National Orientation and Investment in Sports.”
Notably, Afe Lotto was one of the many sponsors of the 49th SWAG.
