Deputy Minister Joins Church of Pentecost Environmental Care Campaign

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Rev. Johnson Avuletey  last Friday joined members of the Church of Pentecost,  Ho area for a clean up exercise at the Ho Central market.

This was after a float in town to launch church’s Environmental Care Campaign, in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

The exercise saw the deputy Minister together with the Church of Pentecost   leaders and members desilt choked drains and clear refuse around the market.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Avuletey  underscored the importance of  caring for the environment and said it was crucial to our survival as a people.

He lauded the church for the initiative, to replicate in the regions,  President Akufo-Addo’s agenda of making the national capital the  cleanest city in Africa.

He therefore called on other organisations and individuals to rise up to the challenge of ensuring a clean and safe environment, through good sanitation practices.

‘It is the responsibility of every citizen both young and old to keep their communities and cities clean,’ Mr. Avuletey stated and charged traditional, religious and other opinion leaders, to lead the campaign for a clean environment in their communities.

Street float to launch the Environmental Care Campaign

Apostle Moses Kwame Ahiakor, Ho Area head of the Church of Pentecost, said the Environmental Care Campaign, forms part of a 5-year vision of the church, which seeks to possess the nation and transform every sphere of society with Godly principles and values.

He called for behaviour change among citizens in order to curb the spate of   environmental degradation in the country.
