The much awaited list of President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives has finally been announced.
The nominations, which have delayed for several months were on Sunday afternoon made public by the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr. Dan Botwe at a press briefing in Accra.
Out of the 18 MDCE nominees announced for the Volta region, seven of them were incumbents, with the remaining being new entrants, including one female.
In the Ho Municipality, Mr. Divine Bosson, the Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO) has been nominated to replace the incumbent MCE, Mr. Prosper Pi-Bansah.
Mr. Bosson was among the three finalists shortlisted by the vetting Committee for the President’s consideration, though they recommended Mr. Bright Doh, the NPP Ho Central Constituency Secretary for nomination.
Incumbents retained include, Edmund Kudjo Attah -North Dayi, James Etornam Flolu – Afadzato South, Ernest Victor Apau – Ho West, Thomas Zonyrah – Central Tongu, Anthony Avorgbedor – Ketu North, Seth Yormewu – Anloga and Phanuel Kadey Donkor – Adaklu.
The only female on the list, is the nominee for Agotime-Ziope district, Emelia Amefa Adzimah.

Meanwhile, the Regional chairman of NPP, Mr. Makafui Woanyah has appealed for calm among party supporters, and called on them respects the President’s choice of MDCEs.
