The Executive Director of People With Albinism, Ghana, Mr. Newton Komla Katseku, has debunk the press release by V. F. Sesom Hofamn the president of The Association of African Albinos (A. A. A).Â
He said the association never recognized the said statement and has no idea and hands in the Press Statement to the extent of expelling Lawyer Foh Amoaning, the Human right Lawyer, from its association as a member, for advocating against the opening of LGBTQIA+ right community in Ghana.
According to Mr. Katseku, despite associating his advocacy’s and calls to the Association, Lawyer Foh Amoaning does not even belong to the Association in Ghana, before one could expelled him.
Speaking on the Swiss morning Show, “Swiss Volta Express”, Mr. Katseku asked the general public to stay away from the press release and treat it as unaccepted and uncalled for.
“Me, as an individual, I do not support the idea, being born into culture that is never practiced. If the society frown upon such practice there is no way”he added.
Background
The Association of African Albinos has expelled their leader, Moses Foh-Amoaning, for speaking against Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual Transgender and queer Intersex Rights (LGBTQI) movement in Ghana.
To them, LGBTQI+ rights are human rights and their lives matter just as albino lives matter.
The Association, in a statement, indicated the expulsion is with immediate effect and described his (Foh-Amoaning) position as a violation of human rights and championing hate.
The group has also rendered an apology to the LGBTQI+ community in Ghana and across the continent.
The advocating against the opening of LGBTQIA+ right community in Ghana has spark a lot of controversies in the country.
