The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their instrumental roles in delivering a resounding victory for the party in the recent presidential and parliamentary elections.
In a press statement, the Chairman acknowledged the immense contributions of the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, newly elected MPs, the Political Committee, and all regional, constituency, and branch executives. He also extended gratitude to party members, the people of Hohoe, and the entire Volta Region for their overwhelming support.
The party expressed particular appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the President-Elect, for his visionary leadership, which inspired the NDC to achieve this significant milestone. The Volta Region demonstrated its unwavering loyalty to the NDC, delivering an extraordinary 90.11% of the votes to H.E. Mahama, leaving Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP with just 8.7%.
In Hohoe, voters reclaimed the parliamentary seat from the NPP, marking a pivotal moment in the region’s political landscape. The party also extended gratitude to the region’s revered Chiefs and Queen Mothers for their wise counsel, which contributed to the campaign’s success.
Chairman Agbavitor noted, “This victory is a testament to the tireless efforts of party members at all levels, from grassroots mobilization to strategic leadership.” He reminded supporters that significant challenges lie ahead, citing economic hardships caused by the NPP government’s mismanagement.
The Chairman urged supporters to celebrate the victory with humility and grace while maintaining peace and unity. “This is not just a victory for the NDC; it is a victory for the people of Ghana. Together, we will build the Ghana we all deserve.”
