School children at Saviefe-Gbedome, a farming community in the Ho West district can now rub shoulders with the counterparts in the urban areas in learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Thanks to the benevolence a Non-governmental organisation, VIMA, the community can boast of an Library cum Computer Lab.
Christened, Hezel Community Computer Laboratory and Library, the facility was provided at the cost of 32,000 dollars.
Founder and Executive Director of VIMA, Mr. Francis Agbemafle speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, February 8, 2022, said the intervention forms part of the organization’s objectives to find lasting solutions to challenges of deprived communities in the area of education and health care.
He urged the beneficiaries make good use of the facility to improve education outcomes in the area, and also be innovative and creative as the world was moving into a new era.
The District Chief Executive for Ho West, Ernest Appau who was the Guest of Honour express gratitude to VIMA for their intervention and called for more collaboration in the future.
He also assured of assembly’s efforts to provide the needed amenities and infrastructure in the various communities of the district.
Madan Celestine Korsi-Agordo, the District Director of Education appealed to the teachers and pupils of Saviefe Gbedome D.A Basic school to judiciously use the facility to enhance tesching and learning, and also ensure a good maintenance culture.
