Three persons who picked forms to contest the National Democratic Comgress’ parliamentary primaries in the Ketu South constituency have withdrawn from the race.

The three, Mr. Johnson Koffie Kporha, Mr. Bill Godson Ocloo and Mr. Sylvester Kafui Nyasorgbor were said to have thrown in the towel moments before the party dropped down the curtains on the filing of nominations by close of Friday.

Consequently, five other aspirants have successfully filed their nominations awaiting vetting on the 24th and 25th of July at the NDC Regional secretariat in Ho.

They include a former deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Madam Dzifa Abla Gomashie,  a former constituency secretary, Mr Foga Nukunu, Mr. Joseph Kwasi Nyavi, Mr. Nicholas Worclachie  and Madam Caroline Kudah- Parker.

Successful aspirants from the vetting would now battle it out at the August 24 primaries which would elect a new parliamentary candidate to replace incumbent MP, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey, who is stepping down after two terms.

The Ketu South constituency is the largest, in terms of voter population in the entire Volta region and has been the biggest ‘gold mine’ for the opposition NDC.
