The Chief Executive Officer of Salaria Eyemed & Optical Suppliers, Dr. Abraham Gaitu, has been adjudged the Best Private Sector Entrepreneur for 2025 by the Ghana Optometric Association (GOA).
The recognition was conferred during the Association’s Annual General Meeting held in Kumasi, celebrating Dr. Gaitu’s outstanding contribution to private eye care delivery in Ghana.
Salaria Eyemed, headquartered in Ho—the Volta Regional Capital—with branches in Accra and Denu, is a member of the KEM Groupe, a diversified business conglomerate comprising Salaria Transport and Kem Properties.

Similarly, Dr. Gaitu was also honoured by the Association for his dedicated service as a National Executive Member, acknowledging his strategic leadership and commitment to the growth of the optometric profession.
Dr. Gaitu, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to the GOA fraternity, colleagues, and mentors, with special mention of Dr. Isaac Boamah, Head of the Eye Unit at Ho Teaching Hospital, for his mentorship and nomination.
He also acknowledged the support of the GOA Volta/Oti team, #TeamSalaria across Ho, Accra, and Denu, and his family for their unwavering encouragement.

“This honour is a testament to what diligence, honesty, and faith can achieve. I dedicate it to all who continue to believe in the dream,” he stated.
The GOA Best Private Sector Entrepreneur Award is presented annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact in Ghana’s optometric profession, which is largely driven by private sector practitioners.
Salaria Eyemed commenced operations in Ho in 2018, and has since expanded its services to accept several private health insurance schemes, including Metropolitan Health, Apex, Phoenix, and GLICO. The facility is also a DVLA-accredited eye testing centre, serving clients across the Volta Region and beyond.
