Authorities and Students of the Nkonya- Wrupong Girls Senior High School in the Oti Region are appealing to government and other philanthropists to provide more educational facilities to help enhance quality teaching and learning of the school.
The situation at school is hampering academic activities as authorities call for quick intervention.
The school, which started three years ago in the area to promote girls educational system, lacks numerous facilities to cater for its academics choice.
A visit to the school disclosed that among other challenges facing the school are the inadequate teaching staff, dining hall, science laboratory computer laboratory, home-economics equipment, vehicle, and electricity meters for staff bungalows.
The report also established that the headmistress, has vacated her bungalow and has since been sleeping with students in their dormitories as bat have invaded the bungalow.
Speaking with the headmistress of the school, Christiana Dzifa Fudjoe, she lamented that the absence of numerous infrastructure to facilitate effective is having negative toll on academic activities of the school.

She therefore called on government and other philanthropists to address the problems facing the school to facilitate academic works of the school.
One of the teachers in the school, Godwin Azu, added that the situation of the school does not make teaching and learning attractive, hence the need for government and individuals to prioritize the needs of the school.
Some students who spoke in an interview, requested for electricity services, science laboratory, computer laboratory and other facilities to complement their studies.
However, the District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) for Biakoye, Comfort Akua Atta, has encouraged the students to take their studies seriously despite the challenges facing them.
She assured that her office together with the assembly will ensure that the school is provided with the needed development to promote academic excellence.
