NIA Begins Recruitment for Ghana Card Registration in Volta Region

The National Identification Authority  (NIA) has commenced processes for the recruitment of temporary staff for the Mass Ghana Card registration in the Volta region.

A widely circulated notice on social media platform, Whatsapp suggested, the NIA is in search of graduates with at least, a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate to engage as registration officers and assistants for the exercise bill to take place across all 18 municipalities and districts in the region.

The  circular, directed prospective applicants to report at designated locations in the districts, starting this week, with original copies of their certificates and I.D cards to partake in an aptitude test as part of the selection  process.

For instance,  the selection process for those in the Ho muncipality is slated for Wednesday, July 10 2019 at the OLA Senior High School premises at 8am. While, that of the Ho West district  will take place at the Dzolo Senior High School at Dzolo-Gborgame on Thursday, July 11, 2019.

A source who confirmed the veracity of the notice to Voltaonlinegh.com, said the Mass Ghana card registration will officially commence in the region on July 22, 2019 and would last for a month.

‘After the recruitment and training,  the registration exercise will start on July 22 and it will run throughout the week except Sunday for a month; after which we’ll move to Oti,’ the source, who pleaded anonymous stated.

Meanwhile, Information available to Voltaonlinegh.com revealed that, official from NIA headquarters in Accra, led by the Executive Secretary, Prof. Ken Attafuah were in the region this past week to train newly recruited Municipal and District Registration officers in Ho.

The team also engaged staff of the Information Services Department (ISD) and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to train them on how to carry out public education and sensitization on the exercise in the region.

The Volta region is second after Greater Accra out now 16 regions for the Mass registration exercise, which would capture biometrically, records of all Ghanaian citizens, 18 years and above.
