The Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, H.E. Himeno Tsutomu, has said the government of Japan recognizes the importance of quality learning environment for child’s education in Ghana.
In this regard, Mr. Tsutomu noted that, the Japanese Government is supporting the development of the education area in accordance with the National Education policy which ultimately seeks to strengthen the capacity of the basic education system by investing and mobilizing resources, allocating them equitably and ensuring their efficient utilization.
He made these observation while handing over a 6-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facility to Sogakope D/A Primary C school.
Mr. Tsutomu revealed that the Project was funded by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GFHSP) Scheme costing s total of USD $ 87,623.
He said this amount granted to South Tongu District Assembly for the construction of this School Block seeks to address the basic education delivery which is in line with Japan’s ODA policy with its focus on human security.
He urged the School Authorities to make good use of the facility so as to improve access to basic education and provide secured and comfortable learning environment to ensure that basic education is delivered adequately and on time to the children of Sogakope and its surrounding communities.
