Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North, has been nominated by President John Mahama as the Volta Regional Minister.
Mr. Gunu, a trained journalist and local government expert, is part of the first list of 10 Regional Minister Nominees submitted to Parliament by President Mahama on Tuesday, January 14.
The other nominees are:-
- Ali Adolf John – Northern Region
- John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Region
- Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey – Eastern Region
- Ibrahim Tia – North-East Region-
- Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Region
- Akamugri Donatus Atanga – Upper East Region
- Charity Gardiner – Ahafo Region
- Salisu Bi-Awuribe – Savannah Region
- Linda Ocloo, MP – Greater Accra Region
The six outstanding regions, including Central, Bono, Bono East, Upper West, Western, and Western North, are yet to have their ministers nominated.
This is President Mahama’s second major ministerial nomination since assuming office.
