Former Ho MCE to be buried on Saturday

Plans are underway to give a befitting burial to the former Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Prosper Pi-Bansah at the weekend.

The 61-year-old father of three, passed away on February 13, 2023 at the Ho Teaching Hospital after reportedly experiencing some health issues.

The funeral will begin at Ho Ahoe Community Centre on Friday, May 26, with a wake keeping, and continue at the Ho Kpodzi E.P. Dela Cathedral with a burial service before internment at the Ho Cemetery.

Several high profile personalities including government functionaries are expected to mourn with the bereaved family.

The late MCE during his tenure from October 2019 to October 2021, showed dedication to improving sanitation in the Municipality.

The Municipal Assembly has directed that all flags in the municipality should be flown at half-mast in memory of the former mayor.

The Assembly also planned a Pre-Burial Service at the Forecourt on Thursday.

The late MCE led the Municipality through challenging security situations involving separatist groups and was known for his calm demeanour.

Prosper Pi-Bansah, a native of Ho Ahoe in the Volta region, until his appointment as MCE, worked at the Regional office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) as Monitoring & Evaluation officer. He was also a onetime Scheme Manager for NHIS in Ho Municipal.

He was also a onetime elected Assembly Member of the Ho Municipal Assembly, and recently, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central in the 2020 general elections.

Mr. Pi-bansa began his working life as a tutor at the then Ho Polytechnic (now Ho Technical University) and later to Kpando Technical Institute.

The late MCE holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing from EPUniversity College, Ho, and a Commonwealth Executive Masters of Public Administration from KNUST.

His academic pursuits include, GCE O Level at Awudome SHS, Tsito; a Technician Certificate in Agricultural Engineering from Ho Polytechnic in 1987 and a host certificates and diplomas from UEW, GIMPA and the University of Ghana.

Hon. Prosper Pi-Bansah is survived by his wife and three children.
