Energy Minister and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Hohoe, John-Peter Amewu has appealed to electorates of the Constituency to look beyond party symbols in this year’s elections.
According to him, symbols by themselves do not bring development but personalities do, hence the need for constituents to elect competent candidates who would bring them the needed transformation.
The minister said this at a meeting with religious and traditional leaders in constituency during President Akufo-Addo’s visit to Hohoe on Saturday to launch the NPP’s Constituency campaign for the December 7 general elections.
‘You should not vote for voting sake. Your vote must bring you tangible benefits and not just a temporary excitment,’ Mr. Amewu said and called on the constituents to vote for him and President Akufo-Addo for them to continue the good works started in the area.
The President in a brief speech expressed confidence in the steadwarship of the Energy minister and entreated the electorates to vote him into parliament to continue the good works he is spearheading in the area.
‘Hohoe has a beautiful place in history, and if you want to regain such glory, you need to vote for someone like Amewu,’ he added.
President also assured the chiefs that, should the ‘4More4Nana’ materialise, the entire Eastern corridor road project will be completed in his next term of office.
As part of the visit, the President earlier commissioned a 45kW Tsatsadu Micro-hydro power generation station at Alavanyo Abenease, constructed by the Bui Power Authority to augment electricity supply in the area.
