History would be made in the Hohoe Constituency come the December 7 elections, Mr. Kenwud Nuworsu, a former Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP has announced.
Speaking at a campaign rally of John-Peter Amewu, the Energy Minister and NPP Parliamentary candidate for Hohoe on Saturday, the veteran politician said he was optimistic the enthusiasm which has greeted Mr. Amewu’s candidature as result of the massive development he is spearheading in the area, would translate into victory for him and the NPP at polls.
According to Mr. Nuworsu, the era where people are voted into parliament only for them to draw salaries and allowances, and later turn around to claim they were not development agents are over, because ‘the time has come to send highly connected people like Amewu to parliament to lobby for projects.’
The campaign held at the St. Augustine School Park, was graced by President Akufo-Addo and other stalwarts of the NPP, including former General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, who said the government has fulfilled its promises to Ghanaians for which it deserves four more years to deliver even greater development.
“Everywhere we have been, the President has delivered on his mandate, whether it is infrastructure, whether it is schools, roads, water and what have you. On the 7th of December, Ghanaians around the country are going to deliver a resounding endorsement to his excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and my brother John Peter Amewu, and I am sure next for years will see greater development” Mr. Agyepong declared.
This is Mr. Amewu’s third attempt at annexing the Hohoe seat from the NDC, which is being represented by a new candidate, Professor Margaret Kweku, a former MCE for Hohoe in the December polls.
