The Management of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ho in the Volta Region has donated a heavy duty printing machine to Mawuli Senior High School as part of the Company’s Cooperate Social Responsibility to the Needs of Communities and Institutions where the ECG operates.
The Staff of ECG in the Volta Region led by the Regional Manager, Ing. Delali Oklu made the donation of the Machine ” Risograph” worth GHC20,000.00 to the School’s Authorities at the School Campus recently.
Speaking at a short meeting to hand over the Machine to the School, Engineer Delali noted that, the decision to help Mawuli SHS with such an IT Equipment came after the 1969-1971 group of the School appealed to ECG.
He said, despite the constrict financial status of the Company the Staff and management considered the success the printer will bring to the students, hence the decision to purchase the equipment.
“When the request by the 1969-1971 Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU) was evaluated, we deemed it necessary to grant it despite our current tight financial position” he said.
The headmaster of the school, Mr. Rev. Samuel Senanu Asienie expressed gratitude to ECG for the gesture. He revealed that the aim to appeal for the Risograph is to curb challenges the School goes through to print examination papers.
Rev. Samuel pledged to ensure the right use of the printer in other to expand the lifespan for it to meet its purpose and also to benefit more batches in the future.
“It is my pledge that this machine will be properly catered for, to live its fullest lifespan” Rev. promised.
A Risograph is brand of digital duplicator designed mainly for high volume photocopying and printing and one of the world’s quality and expensive IT Machine.
An IT expert was also provided by the Company (ECG) to train some staff of the School on proper operation of the Risograph.
