A former Volta Regional Minister and MP for Ketu North, Modestus Yawo Zebu Ahiable has passed on to glory, aged 75.
The family in a brief statement, announced the peaceful passing of the distinguished National Democratic Congress (NDC) politician on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our father, H.E. Modestus Yao Zébu Ahiable which occurred on Sunday, 21st January 2024.

Born on 10th October 1948, Hon. Ahiable had left an indelible mark on Ghana’s political landscape, having served in various capacities during his active days.
He secured a significant role in the country’s governance when he was elected to the first Parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana on 7th January 1993, representing the Ketu North constituency. His political acumen and commitment to public service saw him re-elected for two additional terms, concluding his parliamentary service on January 6, 2005.
The late Ahiable also held the position of Volta Regional Minister from 1993 to 1997 during the Jerry John Rawlings government. His leadership skills extended beyond national borders when, in 2009, President John Evans Atta Mills appointed him as Ghana’s Ambassador to Benin, a role in which he served diligently until 2013.

The seasoned politician and diplomat, was a former teacher and hailed from Dzodze, capital of the Ketu North Municipality.
