The Sonrise Christian Senior High School [SHS] in Ho has held its 10th graduation ceremony for 125 students who passed out of the institution this year.
The occasion was also used to inaugurate a health Centre for the school to add up to the facilities provided at the school to make it one of the best private SHSs in the region.
At the ceremony, the school’s administrator Mr. Joseph Dzemesi, said the school continued to perform creditably at the Wet Africa Senior School Certificate Examination [WASSCE]. He announced that the school has qualified in the National Science and Mathematics Quiz competition slated for June this year.
He appealed to the government to find a way to include private SHSs in the implementation of the free SHS initiative to buttress the belief of the government in private sector participation in national development.
Determination and Perseverance
The guest speaker for the occasion, Dr. Ben Honyenuga, who is the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Ho Technical University told the grandaunts to be mindful of the fact that determination and perseverance ruled the world and inspired students to do ordinary things extraordinarily well by applying determination and perseverance to achieve success.
He advised them to dream positively devoid of self-pity, be self-disciplined and work hard to progress in life.
The chairman of the board of directors, Madam Francisca Djentuh, advised the graduands to go into the world and perform well to make their alma mater proud.
The chairman for the function, the Ho Municipal Director of Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kosi Dzokoto, said as future leaders, they must go out into the world with the conviction to commit bthemselves to work hard.
